Prevented Norton Antivirus Live Update 3.0.1 (a Java application) from working; got error message "Parts of Live Update are Missing". Deleting the two plugins of Java Embedding Update from /Library/Internet Plugins and restarting did not restore Live Update's activity. I had to completely delete all of Norton Antivirus and re-install; then Live Update worked again.
