I just wish that the ability to hide DragThing from Apple's dock would not require administrator rights but be a prefrerence that every user could manage.

good new fetures - James Thomson
The reason it needs admin rights, and isn't a per-user setting is that DragThing needs to modify the application itself in order to hide the icon. So this change will apply to all users who run that copy.Hopefully Apple will make this easier in future OS releases. Currently, I could make this work on a per-user basis if DragThing required 10.3 or later, but I didn't want to lose support for 10.2 at this stage.

Thank you James for the explanation. DragThing is a GreatThing anyway.Tuesday, December 21 2004 @ 11:49 AM PST

The feature won't be defeated. The dock customization and appearance is normally left to the user.Tuesday, December 21 2004 @ 11:47 AM PST

Then that would defeat the very purpose of this feature. Do you not have administrator rights to your own computer? I fail to see the problem here.Reply to This
