Excuse my ignorance on that subject, but I find no way to control the recordings. Recording a movie from TV for instance, results in a 20 GB file (for less than 2 hours). Now how's that supposed to be reduced to 4,2 GB in order to fit in a DVD?
I must have missed something => any suggestion appreciated.

Yeah...DV, as a format, is large...rougly 1 GB for every 5 mins. When making DVDs, the footage needs to be encoded into the MPG-2 format, for which there are a variety of tools you could use...Reply to This
