If you are looking for software to make an extremely simple website quickly, this will work. Anything beyond typing a few words though gets frustrating very quickly.
The most desirable feature for beginners is a WYSIWYG editor. Although it claims to be WYSIWYG, Rapid Weaver is not. It's close, but not true WYSIWYG. For example, when creating a Styled Text page one can drop a picture on the page in the editor. Click on the preview button and you will find your picture has moved and your text flows above, below or around it, depending on where your cursor was. This makes for a tedious iterative process to get it right. This is not WYSIWYG.
When chaging the font of text, sometimes the font takes, sometimes it does not. You don't know until you click on preview (once again, not really WYSIWYG) and find some of your text changed, some didn't. These little details add up.
Rapid Weaver wants to be Freeway from SoftPress Inc. Freeway does everything that users of Rapid Weaver have requested, but of course it costs seven times more. If you want to do only the absolute basics for a website Rapid Weaver may suffice. If you want to do a little bit more with a lot less hassle I recommend Freeway instead.
