Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

Recommend Product: YES

I was a bit intrigued by this program, so I took a look at their website.
See how well Solitaire and WordPad run under Windows 2000! :)

A real-world test is critical, accompanied by benchmarks. I want to see how well Office runs on this. I want to see how well a newer game like Quake 3 can run (if at all). For this to be viable, we need to see some

That being said, I am very aware that a PC emulator will more than likely be too slow to allow you do run anything more than basic apps.

Quake 3 is not a real-use situation either - Stormchild

Why would you run Quake 3 in an emulator when you can get the product for the Mac? Doesn't sound like real-use to me. It's also well known that nobody tries to run games in an emulator. They're just too slow for that kind of thing.

Quake 3 is not a real-use situation either - Mike Waterfall SW

First of all, he said real-WORLD, not real-USE. They mean two very different things. Quake 3 would be a good test because it would actually show how fast the emulator is. WordPad won't show much of a difference in speed between a 200 MHz computer and a 2 GHz computer since it doesn't do much in the first place.

And what do you mean by people don't play games in emulators? What's the point of the other 99% of emulators that aren't emulating PCs, like Super Nintendo and Atari?

Demos are not based on real-use situations - -=Someone=-

FYI, Quake 3 is often used for benchmarking purposes. It has nothing to do whether or not it's available for Mac. It's about testing the number of frames per second you can get. And yes, some people do play games on their PC emulator. There are games not available for Mac that they like to run. Sometimes they are playable, but most often they are a nightmare.
