Impossible to run Live Update.
Impossible to download the new version (it does not exist into Symantec site).
Symantec asked does not respond.
Symantec forget Macintosh people.

You might have a corruption with JAVA. Try downloading the latest from Apple ... I think 1.4.2 and installing.
