I like the layout better than HourWorld's but my biggest gripe is the limited number of cities in the database. Granted, it's not terribly difficult to add your own cities but to do that you've got to know or look up the GMT offset time zone (try to figure out the offset in Indiana where there are three different time arrangements in that little state), as well as the lat/lon of the city. For example, San Antonio is the ninth largest U.S. city (http://www.demographia.com/db-uscity98.htm) but it's not even in the database! Sure, you can select #8 Dallas and be in the correct time zone/state but if you want to avail yourself of all the additional bells and whistles the program offers like the extensive almanac information, distance measurements, etc. you need to be a lot closer geographically than the 300 miles between those two cities.
So this program would be a lot more helpful if it included an extensive worldwide database of cities like HourWorld does. Therefore, HourWorld continues to get my vote as the top program in this category.
But with a much-expanded database, VelaTerra will knock HourWorld off that perch.

Needs an expanded city database - MizuInOz
If you know or can find the longitude and latitude of ANY city in the world, you can add it to the database.I have been using VelaClock Deluxe Widget since dirt was invented and I find these programmes invaluable. I deal with clients and colleagues on six continents and often need to conference call several through multiple time zones...
This programme is tops... Just because you are not willing to actually do something to make the application customised for you doesn't mean the application is bad.
