Installing LimeWire changed the Owner and Group permissions on my Applications folder and Desktop Hard Drive icon leading it to say it couldn't be modified when attempting to drag and drop to them. Yes, running Disk Utility corrected the problem, but this was definitely a LimeWire installation issue, as I deleted all occurences of LimeWire on my drive including the receipt and re-installed to the same 'problem.' In reference to Jeff Mincey's commentaries, I DO find it QUITE an annoyance when I type in Artist and Title to search for a song and get every other artist's version or even partial string matches, but in the end LimeWire does what it is advertised to do... eventually.

Limewire is just going to go the way of the APGulianos of the mac realm.Of course, trying to equate a software application to the idea of being horrifically annoying is difficult.

I have observed this as well, that Limewire's installation does change the user permissions of the /Applications folder -- and this is a VERY bad thing for software to do (leaving aside why OS X permits this to begin with). I've had to use Apple's Disk Utility to correct the problem, and while this is advisable after OS upgrades -- and less so today than in the past -- it shouldn't be necessary after the upgrade or install or each individual app.Meanwhile, I find Limewire's UI to be poorly designed and not terribly functional even when allowing for its design.
