Destroyed iCal To Do's

Feedback Type:  Review

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I gave Burnout Menu a try, and it destroyed two of my iCal To Do's.

Before I ran Burnout Menu, the To Do's were fine, and afterwards, they were replaced with garbage text that looked like Burnout Menu's catagory titles.

Beware this application if you use iCal, and at a very minimum, make a full backup of your data prior to trying it out.

Perhaps the developer might want to test their app prior to releasing it?

Destroyed iCal To Do's - jolivierld

You are the *first* person *ever* to report this type of issue.
Please send a report at jolivierld@clichesw.com

It's very, very unlikely to happen if not impossible. I'd be very surprised to know that BM2.0 caused your data loss.

You may find it unlikely, but my To Do's were fine immediately prior to first running BM, and were destroyed 5 minutes later.

And as noted, the To Do text was replaced by text EXACTLY resembling BM category titles.

I'd put the chances of the problem being caused by BM at 100%

As to beta testing the bug for you, no thanks. I'm done with this particular product.

Destroyed iCal To Do's - Eridius

Wow, you are the absolute worst type of user. You give a product a horrible rating because you experience an issue that has never been experienced by anybody else, and yet you refuse to help solve the issue (or even prove that BM2 was the cause of the problem).

Do me a favor - next time you run into a problem like this that you don't want to spend the time to help solve, don't bother to even report it (or badmouth the product on sites like this).

Eridius,

You may prefer that I don't warn other users about their data getting destroyed, but I suspect many more will be interested in having the heads up.

Given the reports of buggy iCal interaction with earlier versions of this software, I backed up my calendars prior to running BM. Most folks will be interested in knowing that nasty problems still exist.

Do us all a favor and get a clue.
