..under the above mentioned version of eMule, Norton AntiVirus gives infinite warnings about remote connection. You click, and the dialog just comes back up. Shame on you, eMule! The solution is quoted here from a forum...

Clcik General Rules-> Add->Permit-> AnyComputer-> TCP and UDP, Only ports
listed below-> Add -> Individually Specified Ports (local)-> Add the ports for
