After updating to 10.3.6 all of a sudden SuperDuper works! Was it the external FW 800 drive? Whatever - I am happy now, and I withdraw my earlier critizism.
Still I don't understand why the maker of SuperDuper decided not to clone certain filse, due to a recomemndation by Apple. I disabled that function, because I want a 1 : 1 clone.
There shoud be fewer options that only confuse me. One button for a straight clone would do the job for me.
