There's a lot one could say about this program, but basically, this is *the* best journal application for OS X that exists. In my opinion, it's the best freeware application that has ever been made for the Mac.
It has an intelligent interface, offers password protection and good encryption, and most of the features that one would find in TextEdit - there's even multimedia support to put photos of your day and a movie of the baby crawling around in your journal. :-)
"Support" is great... I emailed the developer with a question and got a response within two days. Remember, this is freeware. That's a good thing.
One of the best features in it includes a Mac OS X "service" which allows you to highlight text and use OS X services to automatically bring it to MacJournal. There's even a shortcut so you can do it in a keystroke.
Features I'd like to see in 2.7:
1. As noted in my first comment, a feature to see your most commonly-used words.
2. The ability to sort posts by word count or character count.
3. The ability to see keywords on the "home page" that shows up when you highlight the name of the journal.
Thanks to the author for a great app!

The best freeware OS X application ever - WiFiRules
I took a look at it, but I'm not a big fan of the "notebook" layout... it seems like the sort of thing that some people would love but others wouldn't be a big fan of.Sunday, January 02 2005 @ 05:59 PM PST
