Apple Mail?

Can someone, please, tell me why I'd use Eudora over Apple's free Mail ap? For HTML rendering, Mail uses the same render engine found in Safari. In terms of searching, Mail is screamingly fast and it will be even faster in Tiger using Spotlight for searches. In addition, in Tiger, when you search the whole hard drive, it will also display all emails within Mail that pertain to your search. And, for spam filtering, nothing beats it. Mail will also be fully compatible with "Voice Over" for those visually impaired.

Even if you don't upgrade to Tiger, Mail as it currently exists is very fast and full-featured. Why use Eudora?

Apple Mail? - stevejackson

Eudora is here now and has been for a very long time. Tiger won't be here for months yet.

Maybe Mail's interface works for some, but it's not working for me. I can't navigate between messages as easily as I've been doing with Eudora for years. Searches in Mail may be fast, but my searches in Eudora have always been plenty fast too.

Mail's junk filtering is better than Eudora up through 6.1.1. Eudora still doesn't play well with the Address book. And some consider its interface to be aging. Still, I've used it for such a long time that I need some serious convincing to switch to Mail's hard to use (for me) interface. And Eudora's sponsored mode is just as free as Mail.

1) Apple's Mail creates a new file for each and every e-mail message you get, due to the Spotlight integration. That really, really litters the hard drive!

2) Eudora is fast and apparently less bug-ridden than Mail.
