...and your color proofing problems with this great little app. I'm in the graphics/ printing business and had tried off and on for the last 10 years via ColorSync, Adobe Gamma, Apple's built-in monitor calibrators, ICC profiles, trying different printers and papers (etc., etc.) to get good correspondence between the color I was seeing on my monitor compared to the resulting inkjet proofs printed out for clients. I could never come nearly as close as I needed or wanted. In some cases (burgundys and most purples, with my latest setup), I could not even get in the ballpark, and always ended up throwing in the towel and just "making do."
This is the first thing that has ever done the job for me. Of course, nothing is ever perfect where color-matching between different color spaces (RGB vs. CMYK) is concerned, but at least now I am real close on most colors/hues. Subject to the expected differences between RGB colors on a monitor that have no equivalent CMYK color on an inkjet printer, the colors are darn close indeed.
It is like I have finally achieved nirvana or the holy grail of color management. I almost never thought it would happen. Hallelujah, and thank you, thank you, Berg Design for this app. At $19 it is a steal if color management is part of your business.
