This app sounds like a Timbuktu Pro wannabee...or a "lite" version thereof. I suppose it's worth a shot. I already own two Timbuktu Pro licenses -- one for my G4 server and another one for my G5 DP 2.5 workstation -- but I could use a third one for my PowerBook. Maybe this app will work...but it's not particularly encouraging that as of this writing (October 15, 2004) it's been on VT for nearly seven months and no one has reviewed it. Could it really be true that not one VersionTracker user has tried this app? Stand by...

I'm using chicken of the VNC and OSXVnc, both free, and have relied on these for a couple of months now to deal with computers that are currently 6000 miles away. They work fine, and the price (free) is right.Friday, October 15 2004 @ 02:55 AM PDT

Timbuktu lets you use the same license on several machines; we have one licence on the IT manager's machine and the other licence on all the other machines. As long as the two machines communicating are not using the same one there's no problem.Tuesday, October 26 2004 @ 07:59 AM PDT

Thanks Sarlet. My application requires my PowerBook and DP G5 to be able to communicate via Timbuktu with each other, and with a third computer -- a G4 that's running as a Surround SCM server. I'm the server admin, and currently if I need to do anything on the G4 server host computer remotely, I have to use the either the PowerBook or the G5, which also need to talk to each other via Timbuktu for other purposes. I can't see any way to get that functionality with two licenses, unless I want to do the uninstall on one and re-install on the other dance. (I don't.)Sunday, November 07 2004 @ 04:01 PM PST
