As with ALL of ATI's ROM updates from their site, this is for Retail cards only. It will not affect OEM (built-in) cards at all no matter how many times one may try and run the updater.

Actually, I've heard that attempting to install the firmware updates on OEM cards WILL affect them, in that it will screw them up irreversibly. Apparently the updater doesn't check the card before applying itself. This is what I heard about the 9800 updater.
