Fixed noise issues on a orginal dual 1.8 G5 - OS 10.3 through to 10.3.5 (pulsing & chirping noise)
Like many people I have to turn off napping upon every boot. Someone mentioned creating a script. I wouldn't have a clue how one would do this?

Fixes G5 noise - Mark Paterson
Go to Script Editor and paste this (WITH the quotes)....do shell script "hwprefs cpu_nap=false"
Then go to File/Save As and save as an application. Then load the application into your Startup Items in your Account preferences (in System Preferences). Next time you reboot it should be a lot quieter, although sometimes it doesnt work and you have to manually set it. But i've not tested version 4 yet so maybe they fixed that bug. Good luck.
