Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: NO

Months after acknowledging that Retrospect 6 fails to backup Xserves with SCSI attached backup devices there is still not a solution and I doubt there ever will be one. Good thing I gave up and went with BRU instead.

If you have an Xserve, DON'T buy Retrospect - DantzTS

Actually, BRU has reported the same problem:

Sorry but they're not quite talking about the same thing. Apple has said that the UL3 works in the xserve as does Tolis. Dantz is never going to fix this.

"CSI HBAs that are known to work include the Adaptec 29160 and 39160 PowerDomain controllers (in G4 hardware) and the ATTO UL3 and UL4 controllers (in all hardware).

TOLIS Group strongly recommends the ATTO Technologies UL3 and UL4 HBA's for all Mac SCSI installations."
