Every time I choose "new game," it just crashes. Unusable. Doesn't matter which game I have selected.

Yes 1.1.0 did have some OS X issues.I just posted an update which should work even if the table isn't set up completely.
you can download 1.1.2 from our site.
in the future i would suggest sending us an email when you have problems so
we can work to fix it.
I don't check version tracker all that often.
