If you'd read the Read Me, you'd see that it says you can use aliases, so you can store your ROMs and other support files anywhere you like on your system.

Read the Read Me! - madprof

it's still an extremely stupid place for ROM files. you should strive to keep your document files your actual working documents and such, not preference files, not application support files, and certainly not applications, which is what ROMS are of course. The best thing to do if you really want multiple users to be able to access them is to do what was done before! put them in the applications folder. or at least the shared folder. now i'll make a bunch of aliases but what an un-needed headache.
