Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: NO

I switched to Windows for web developing a long time ago, one reason: Homesite. I was hoping for Macromedia porting Homesite to the Mac, or for BB to get better, so I could dump that ugly PC, but I think it won't happen. I must admit that BB-edit features some nice things that Homesite doesn't have. But overall, in basic use it's pretty crippled compared to Homesite and the like.

Anyone who needs a second machine for website work has got to be nuts. Why don't you just blow 500 bucks on some other atrocity at DreamWeaver or GoLive? It would be cheaper.

But you expect Mac users to take your advice and go buy a PC (plus deal with appropriate attendant learning curves if applicable, plus cost of Homesite?)

Sounds more like your problem is "new," because you know Website and don't really want to learn using new tools. On the same machine where your garphics live. Others like you don't seem to realize that there's a great big world out there that has little or nothing to do with html coding, your apparent (and only) specialty.

Can you expect anyone who seriously works with pro tools for a living to buy your approach? Why not come flat out and say you have no need for the other editing features of BBEdit or don't knock off a bit of code in C++ or PHP or Basic or something now and then?
