This is horrid news. ObjectPark Software bought out the formerly free MenuCalendar and then made us start paying for it. Now, they buy out a freeware competitor. Hey, Mac fans, if you're sick of ObjectPark Software trying to make you pay for a calendar display on your machine, try using GeekTool to show the results of 'cal' on your desktop. Or, hey, ObjectPark, maybe you could buy them out, too.
