I installed it and when it auto-launched sys prefs it crashed. I launched sys prefs manually and looked at the prefpane. Looks like a decent set of options, but when I want configuration of my screen capturing I'll use Screen Snapz Pro - with that I can configure it during the capture instead of having to go to the prefpane to toggle options.
Additionally, apparently AlphaCapture injects some code into the Finder. When I tried to trash it, it insisted that AlphaCapture was still in use despite me quitting the daemon. I force-trashed it (Secure Empty Trash) and the Finder crashed with a dyld error, making me think that AlphaCapture injected code into the Finder and that's why I couldn't throw it away. This makes me very uneasy, especially since I was not warned that it was doing this.
AlphaCapture
screen capture: transparent desktop, icon hiding & more
Version: 1.1
1.1 version is awesome! - studioc
I've just downloaded the latest version of AlphaCapture and it's excellent!Nice control over exactly what you want to Capture. Its Selected Area Capture feature along with the other transparency, background and masking tools let me skip image croping and clean-up steps that I normally had to do with the standard mac screen capture tool.
What's more...no bugs and works perfectly within Tiger.
