I might point out that it sounds like your problem is with the Tape drives and not Retrospect. I have been installing secondary drives to be used exclusively for Retrospect backups for a few years now and Retrospect works just fine backing up to another drive and will even span multiple drives if needed. I also have the Prosoft Backup and I use it in occasionally for clients with limited skills, but for business environments I use Retrospect exclusively. It does have a learning curve but once mastered the product is excellent. I use it on both Macintosh and Windows and have fairly well mastered the interface and operational procedures. It is sort of like Microsoft word, one never really stops learning a product with this much power, you just get progressively better at using all it has to offer.

It's not the tape drive as we didn't have problems erasing tapes with Retrospect in OS 9.Reply to This
