What are the alternatives?

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Product Platform: MacOS,MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

I purchased this app for my wife a few years back for OS9. She is getting back to writing and I had planned on upgrading for OSX, but after reading the reviews perhaps it's better to work in classic mode with the version we have.

Quaestion is: What other decent screenwriting software is out there for OSX?

What are the alternatives? - gpercy

There are presently no alternatives that I'm aware. The consensus among others that have posted here seems to be ... stick with version 6.x on OS X. NovaMind has recently added a Screenwriting Module to their wonderful mind-map application. It's a native app that has all the basics (element styles, tab/return macros, cont'd, etc.) but that's about it. I am hoping they will expand the features in future editions. I've encouraged them to develop the Screenwriting Module into a FD competitor (as either a stand-alone app or more fully featured add-on module).

Watch this space... there is a possibility a serious contender may emerge within the next year or so. I am starting to hear some interesting things.
