Often when I download shareware and freeware with Mozilla I'll get a page of code instead of the download. This doesn't happen with Safari.

This is because of a problem on the server where the download is stored. It's not sending the correct MIME type for the file you're downloading, so Mozilla is actually responding correctly. Other browsers make assumptions, even though the MIME type is wrong. When this happens, click the back arrow and click on the download link again while holding the OPTION key. That'll force it to download. (This happens to all of us, BTW--often with .dmg disk image files because Apache isn't configured for them by default).Reply to This
