Iphoto is bad in this area. Red Eye is absolutely superb. Simple, easy, fast and efficient. I love REP.

I only have eyes for Red Eye - sjonke1

You must be using a different iPhoto. iPhoto's red eye tool is wondrous. Drag a (not even very accurate) box around both eyes at once and click a button. 95% of the time it works fully, the other 5 % you have to click the button a 2nd or 3rd time. Either way it is fast and easy.

I only have eyes for Red Eye - tyrayner

iPhoto's redeye remover is great. It does a fantastic job preserving eye color, pupils, etc. Not sure why you think it's bad.
