Avoiding theDock

Both Mozilla and Firefox, but not Camino, Safari or OW appear to have an allergy to the Dock. I keep my Dock in the right-hand corner. When a window opens in Mozilla it is always positioned below the Dock leaving a space at the top of the screen, whereas the others appear to slide under the Dock. So if I want a full screen window with Mozilla I have to drag it up each time, which is irritating. Is there a way to set the window size to avoid this ?

Avoiding theDock - deasys

Mozilla's behaviour is correct. Applications should not encroach on the Dock's area.

Well maybe you are technically correct, I don't know; but even Safari doesn't do this. Also, when a further page is opened this is positioned even further down so that the scroll arrows are hidden. Safari used to do this too but this was changed (? corrected) several updates ago.
