Since moving to the version 8.x I've not been able to scan more than the first item after complete reboot. A second attempt only hangs the application. Vuescan keeps posting that they've fixed problems with Epsons, but I don't see it working yet. Previous versions worked great.

I can add as per the troubleshooting page at hamrick.com you should remove epson scanner from the devices folder of Image Capture in the Library folder.Friday, June 25 2004 @ 09:43 AM PDT

I have same scanner and every rev of VueScan 8 including current 806 works without a problem under 10.3.4 and on a DP Mirror G4 with 2 gigs RAM.I suspect your problem has to do with other devices on your Firewire chain OR other software OR the OSX version you are using or other variables which we do not share in common.
I know this is not good news but the software itself does indeed work with that scanner model.
