I recently decided it was time I found an app like this to keep track of clients, projects, and hours spent. I tried every app I could find. Many of them were terrible or at best, just okay. iWork, on the other hand, had nearly everything I was looking for and nothing that I wasn't. I love the integration with Address Book, I love the timer toggle in the menu bar, I love the overall feel of the app.

A few of complaints:

I generally charge by the project, rather than by the hour. I like to keep track of my hours anyway though... It's the only way I can judge if my quote was accurate, and whether I'm making what I should be making. I would LOVE to be able to enter both an amount of time, and a final amount, and have it calculate the hourly rate for me. This seems like a trivial feature to add and shouldn't have any negative effects.

Sometimes when I double-click on a client, it doesn't open Address Book. Actually, I may have just discovered the issue: it doesn't seem to work if you click on the icon, only the name. That's frustrating.

It would be nice (for first-time users in particular) if the I, checkmark, and $ columns had tooltips showing their meaning. The checkmark and the $ were obvious to me but I had to dig through the help to find out what the I was for. Makes perfect sense, but it's not immediately obvious (especially since it's easily mistakable for an I-beam cursor).

I would find it much more intuitive (and just plain faster) if the toggling for Work Performed, Estimate, and Retainer was done with tabs directly above the bottom pane.

It would be spectacular if I could add an entire folder of files to the File Cabinet, and have that list stay in sync as I add files to the folder. That would make the feature extremely useful to me. I would be great to access everything there and start a timer when I open a file... But as it is I am continually generating new files, so the feature is useless. I can't waste time continually adding individual files.

Overall a great app though... I've already recommended it to others.

A small correction. - robotspacer

I just wanted to correct something in my review. I've found that you can in fact add an entire folder to the File Cabinet just by dragging it to the list from the Finder. You can't do it via the Add button though, which is very confusing. It was almost by accident that I discovered you could do it at all.

Aside from my other comments, I am still very much appreciating this app. It has really made things much easier for me.
