Patch for Kensington & others with Stuttering Image

Feedback Type:  Review

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 1-6 months

Recommend Product: YES

There is a Macam component patch that will fix the stuttering image problem associated with the Kensington VideoCam 67014, 67015, 67016, etc. and perhaps other brands. If you have the image stutter and jumping, replace the Macam.component that should be in your Library->Quicktime folder with the patched version available here:

http://homepage.mac.com/lonsing/macam/

Note: this patched component is different than the "patched" Panther version of the Macam application & component available here. You use the Macam application from here (or any other app. such as Videoviewer, etc.), but replace only the macam.component with from the address above, which is what actually enables the camera (without stutter).

Patch for Kensington & others with Stuttering Image - Coppertop

I've used the Kensington patch as well. Sure the stuttering stops which is great, but now I'm having problems experiencing dark output. Even when going to the settings to "brighten" up the setting, then you lose quality. Is there an update to fix the "dark" setting?

Like Coppertop, I'm having that problem too, where the flicker is fixed, yet the image is very dark. When brightness is increased, it still looks very flat. Sliding all the levers to max only makes the resulting image look very unnatural. Still, its great that it kinda works.

If you run the macan application, you can set shutter and gain to the camera, this settings are applied and the camera should be fine for all other apps.
