One of the very convient aspects of CCC (over, say, Syncronize Pro) is that when I copy my primary System Volume onto, say, another drive (volume), alias' set up (Drop Drawers) will reference the application (or whatever) in the duplicated volume, not the original applications. This is true for the applications in Apple's chosen location in the System/Applications folder. Applications elsewhere are still referenced as they were. I find this particularly useful because I have my diagnostics/utility applications in the System Volume, so that if I have drive or system problems, I can work on them from an entirely independent system. True, I would always be able to open finder and access the duplicated applications directly, but CCC allows me to use my "launcher" in a natural manner on seperate Systems. This makes a very "mirror-like" backup system which, for all pratical purposes, is identical in useage as the original. Using Syn Pro (assuming I used it correctly ... more complex) I had to re-reference my launcher, a real pain when trying to keep a current duplication system.
