Don't people at laCie know that many big HD are partitioned ? The updater see the partitions as different HD. So, despite I had disconnected all other FireWire devices, I got the message that the updating would be unreliable because several devices are connected ! I didn't take a chance and immediately did quit.
Why can't laCie say clearly if a partitioned disk can or cannot safely be updated ? Their negligence is simply hateful.

IMPRECISE, one more time - Mike - LaCie

Clarifying remarks will appear later today.

A partitioned drive will update correctly.

IMPRECISE, one more time - tech-man

why on earth would anyone want to put data on a raid-0 configuration (yes, folks, the big-drive lacie boxes are two drives striped together...anyone with ANY tech knowledge will tell you that raid-0 is inherently unstable and should ONLY be used for scratch disks)...much less partition a raid-0 lacie?

amazing...the lacie marketing folks should work in the white house.
