tried good ole Transmit ftp client to download (have had 'fun' with ftp & safari' before). turned out the file was at wrong level in directory tree. one level too high, listed url: '.../beta' folder was empty. looked a level higher, and there it was. but wouldn't allow download. rechecked '.../beta' and there it was/is. must have fixed location error while i looked. downloaded with no problem. now to check it out :-)
