Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

is easily accessible without this app, and can be set up in the menu bar for all applications. Just open System Preferences, open International, then clip on the Input Menu tab. Then check the box next to Keyboard Viewer (you can also check the box next to Character Palette for another great little feature). Close the System Preferences, and voila, you'll see an American flag icon in the menu bar (if the that's your default keyboard). Keyboard Viewer will be a item in that menu.

The keyboard viewer... - chrisB

Yeah that's correct but ever worked on a 12" PowerBook with a German Mac OS X - there is almost no space for menu bar icons.

crowded menu bar - sjk

Yep, there's not much room on the menu bar with 1024x768 displays. I woudn't mind a second menu bar under the regular one where these sorts of menu extras could live...
