Why is it this is the only site people praise the price on? All the other sites have people commenting how ridiculous $40 is for this app. Funny that these are the reviews that the developer mentions by name when I wrote and asked what was up.

I don't see the point in paying that much for a novelty app so other people can listen to my music for free. I wrote Rogue Amoeba and told them that, mentioned I would gladly register my version if the price was more reasonable. There response was long and surly. Basically said that they have gotten great reviews, mentioned the comments on here. Then they claimed its a serious utility for those who need it, yadda yadda yadda. They ended it with a comment about how if I didn't like it that was fine with them, plenty of other customers do pay the $40.

How is it companies can make great programs like Halo and Everquest which are infinitely more complicated and charge $40 and these guys think their toy is worth the same. They even throw in pretty packaging and CDs. Shareware is what made the Mac great but developers are going crazy these days.

So my question is, has anyone paid for it? Would anyone pay $40 so other people could listen to your music for free? And does anyone else believe the only two reviews (I include other websites that can't be mentioned) that don't have problems with the price are probably lackies for Rogue Amoeba?

Wow! You must really be poor if you can't afford $40 for a decent program.
Get back to you street corner, there are car windows that need washing.
