2.33a works great here, no problems so far, launches fine. i'm not going to go on and on, but this is a great program.
incidentally, i wonder why when i click on the blender link in versiontracker, it takes me to an old version, 2.26 i think. i don't know if it downloads that version because i always notice it at the last minute and change the version to the current one, but still rather odd.
