Tried this and it worked great in safari and mail but the PrintSelection service was greyed out in Internet Explorer or other apps such as Word. Shouldn't it be available to any app as a service?

No, it's only available to cocoa applications, or carbon applications that have been written to take advantage of os x services.Reply to This
