Not sure It's related, but in doubt I prefer to tell It. So, here we go...
After several week of use of Acquisition, my ISP sent me a letter arguing that I tried to connect illegally to their others sucsribers to remote them. They also told that I'd rather stop or they'll unsubscribe me without any more warning and that if I wasn't responsible for this I should search for a trojan on my computer. As Acquisition is the only "network" tool I use except Safari and Mail, I immediately thought of Acquisition using spyware. BTW, I'll ask a friend of mine (from EPITA) to "study" Acquisition processes to see if He can find something relevant to this affair, as I'm not enough programmation inclined to see It by myself.
Seems all non-sense to me, but I prefered to announce It anyhow.
Excuse my english.

Acquisition allows you to be part of a public network, which broadcasts your public ip address. It is well known that the RIAA probes both the gnutella and fasttrack network for users sharing copyrighted information, and then sends a warning.... and perhaps follows through with legal action. Software applications such as Poisoned have build in features that block these known hosts from being able to scan your computer, but there are no guarantees. Your best bet is to just use this service for legitimate purposes only and not share any illegal files. Keep in mind that any file that you download automatically becomes shares.Reply to This
