Uhh, could you simplify that into which behavior you *do* prefer so I can know if I agree with you or not?Wednesday, April 21 2004 @ 08:12 PM PDT

rscynx should respond to "rsyncx" instead of rsync..."which rsync" should point to apple's rsync...
"which rsyncx" should point to third party rsyncx...
all "rsyncx" stuff should be put in separate directories so apple's rsync isn't effected.
i hope my opinions aren't coming across as criticism...rsyncx is good stuff...but i won't install it as long as it effects rsync in any way...by using the same name in the terminal as rsync, it's not something i would use on my admin computer or on any of the computers i support.

yes...but the one overwhelming request has been to NOT have rsyncx respond to a rsync command. the point is that you guys should take the route vim, gim, etc., took by allowing users to link general, built in commands (like rsync) to YOUR utility (the most excellent rsyncx).it's something that has to be done before many of us will use it since we (and by "we" i mean admins) can use your utility with confidence that OUR BUILT IN UTILITIES will NOT be altered.
think fink...
