Acquisition has an excellent interface, is well designed, displays tons of files, and offers you split-offs, related artists and memory-joggers...but won't download worth a damn.

Boy I wish it would work better. But Limewire, that klunky interface-hell of a program, just finds a lot more files that you can actually download. I don't know what it is, I'll find a file that has a good reliability rating and have up to 20 active hosts, and I'll still get maybe 45K (or nothing at all) before it gives up and shows "no active sources". To beat it all, I have an extra-fast cable connection and I'm acting as an Ultrapeer for the network. Hell, other users have better luck uploading from my computer than I do downloading from anyone else's. Obviously they're not using Acquisition.

There's no documentation or tips either, though the author does rant occasionally on an Acquisition Forum board. I have had no reliability issues with my installs, though. It always boots and runs fine. It just isn't good for the purpose for which it was written.

It's back to Limewire. Too bad.
