MK follows the HIG better than any other typing software I know of. it has been thoroughly reviewed by a 3rd party for HIG compliance. It does break with HIG in a few ways that are not obvious to most users and in other ways because of the genre it is. Alot gets done with specific suggestions so feel free to tell us what you think.
Re: Seems pretty good... - moofster
Here are my suggestions:1. The Help button at the top right shouldn't be all the way on the edge - and why not use one of the standard '?' icons?
2. When clicking on button such as 'History', the main window closes and is replaced with the new window - seems non-standard and a bit strange.
3. It would be nice if the 'Choose Drill...' option remembered the last drill used and selected it by default.
4. After choosing a different drill, the 'History' option still shows the history for the *last* drill, not for the one just selected. This is a bit annoying.
5. I have noticed several instances where the tips at the beginning of a drill showed tips for the wrong keys in Dvorak mode. For example, it would tell you how to reach a particular key, but clearly incorrectly - telling you to use the wrong finger for example. I don't remember the specifics.
6. In the log section, you can click on the columns, but they don't sort. This would be nice.
7. Sometimes the key click sounds miss a few beats - can be distracting.
According to the logs, I've spent nearly nine hours with your program, and I *do* like it. I just think it could be cleaned up a bit. It clearly works, and better than any other Mac typing programs I've used. The price is right too.
I typed this message using Dvorak thanks to Master Key. I look forward to future improvements.
