I'd like to see that the colours of the bars would blend over the maximum bar length instead of over the instanteneous barlength, ie one blend colour would only be reached by a bar of maximum length. I think this would look nicer because horizontally all colours would be the same. Moreover, the colour would in itself be indicative of the amplitude. For instance, one could choose to blend from green to red and red would only be visible in bars reaching the zero dB level.

In fact doing it this way is trivial within the code - I can easily add it as an option. The reason I didn't before though is that it really doesn't look all that interesting - hardly much different from "flat colours". Still, if that's what you want...
