I respectfully disagree with the other reviewers here, who have given this program overwhelmingly high marks. If all you are looking for is mindless diversion and a glossy interface, then this is for you. But real poker is not a mindless game, and the AI in this program will not improve your play.
For 30 bucks, I expect the game to play a decent game of poker. I also expect it to play by the proper rules (Omaha always has FOUR cards in the hole, not two, as in iPoker's Omaha Hi version of this game). If you find iPoker to be a challenge, then please come play for real money online, preferably at my table! :-)
Seriously folks, if you hone your game with this software, you are going to be in for a rude awakening in the real world at any table with players who are even half-decent. Don't say I didn't warn you!

ummm..your not going to improve your poker skill with any computer game anyway, since most people play in real life, not at internet casinos(not REAL poker), so I say pull the rod out of your ass and let people have some fun!Saturday, March 27 2004 @ 01:44 PM PST

Also, Turbo texas Hold Em and Tournament Turbo Texas Hold Em both by Wilson Software will improve your game a lot, even if you have a fair amount of play under your belt. With all due respect, Omaha (for high) is not *always* played with four hole cards as "crenzer" claims. But in any case, it is very easy to change iPoker to play it that way if you prefer. I will do some more research, and if I find that the majority of modern Omaha games are played this way, I will be happy to change that rule in the next version. As for AI, iPoker is designed to play more than 100 different poker games. I will consider specializing the Ai for individual popular games in the future, hopefully in version 3.1. I *do* appreciate the feedback, however harsh.
