Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: YES

There is a greater need today for an xTalk product like Revolution than there ever has been. Bill Atkinson, who invented Hypercard, saw the need for the user to program the computer in an easy and logical way. Hypercard was a huge success, but it could not make the leap out of the 64000 processor world.

Revolution has done it and it is now as modern as Panther or XP. However, with years of experience on these types of products I have been frustrated by bugs and fences.

Revolution MUST be bug free, or it will not be used. But the most frustrating thing is you are scripting along and you hit a fence. You can't get where you want to go! So you backtrack, and try another route. And so it goes. I must have 20 Supercard, Metacard etc projects hanging around somewhere. They are 95% finished, but they lack the 5% I really neaded.

Revolution has always been "nearly" great. It just lacks the 5%, needs to be bug free and must have a manual
