As for comparing "Gorilla", to any other software program... Jungle software provides a product that not only has budgeting AND scheduling, but ties them in with 7 other modules critical to the success of running a smooth production. No other software program contains as many features in one integrated product. No other film production software program runs on ALL platforms including OS X, OS 9 and Windows.

Gorilla offers:
BUDGET FEATURES: Comparision Budegting, Fringes & Globals, International Currency, Track Expenses against Budget.

SCHEDULING FEATURES: Import from Final Draft & Movie Magic Screenwriter programs, Stripboard swap, Production phases, Location Maps & Directions.

CAST/CREW FEATURES: Crew Management, Cast Rehearsal Sessions, Actor Headshots & Bios.

OTHER FEATURES INCLUDE: Film festival tracking, Editing notes, 7-security levels & distribution of profits. As for Excel, Gorilla has an export function that allows you to export category, accounts and detail line items to a tab-separated text format for importing into programs such as Excel, if you elected to do this.

Everyone "claims" to be a filmmaker these days, however Gorilla was designed, developed and continues to be tech supported by real Independent Filmmakers. ALthough one should remember, the program itself should speak volumes and not who's who behind it. Then again... Other people who "claim" credits in filmmaking may be nothing more than a receipt from the local consumer electronics store.

ALthough I have not done a test myself, hence my "comment" and NOT review.... I should add, I am NOT associated with ANY software company. I am an accomplished Screenwriter and Indie filmmaker who decided to give anyone out there looking for a budget and schedule program a heads up. So the best advice I can give you is try this and or any program and make a decision for yourself depending on the scope of your project and what each individual piece of software can bring to your project.
