Random (?) Lock-ups

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Contributed by: MilesH Thursday, March 04 2004 @ 03:04 PM PST

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

My computer, a 1.8DP G5 with the basic nVidia video card, locks up after about 30 minutes of game-play. I haven't been able to ascertain whether it happens at *exactly* 30 minutes, so is related to auto-saving or something of the sort. It doesn't bring the machine down, but I can't force-quit, so I effectively have to reboot. Most annoying.

Random (?) Lock-ups - aar0n5150

Dual 2.5GHz G5 running 10.3.8 doing more or less the same thing. Cmd-Opt-Esc force quits back to the finder. Really annoying if you forget to save your game regularly.

Random (?) Lock-ups - Goldfinger7400

I have experienced the same trouble if I have two monitors plugged in. Disconnecting one of the screens will help, I believe this a known bug with OS X.
