I am finally able to start this game since I purchased it several months ago. At the time of purchase, I had the developer's version of Java installed (version 1.4.2) and soon realized that it would not work with this game and I could not downgrade to the official version of Java 1.4.1. When the official version of Java 1.4.2 was released, I promptly installed it with the hope that it would finally work with Law and Order. Unfortunately, I had the same problems with freezing in the opening scene as I had with the developer's version of Java. Now, with this fix, I am finally able to start to gather evidence and enjoy this wonderful game. Thank you.
