I love all the new improvements in searching, downloading and checking for updates for your apps... but the Ticker appearance is still a sore sticking point for me. It still won't provide an appearance akin to the old ticker in 2.x., the main problem being the transparency.

I want to be able to see easily readable, solid text, on a (semi-)transparent background. As it stands now, when I increase the transparency of the window, the entire window gets see-through, text and all. Providing either an option for non-transparent text, or a separate variable transparency for the text, would go miles toward making the Ticker usable again.
