Speaking only for myself, I found this newsreader quite by accident, and am glad I did. Yes, I have tried both the free and shareware products out there, but for me, and for the price, Unison is my newsreader of choice. My criteria for appreciating a piece of software may be different from "power users" who need this or need that, but I am totally sold on Unison.

Once you open the program, it pretty much runs itself. The look and feel of the newreader is also very pleasant, and attractive to the eye. I can do everything I need to do with this program, and it has a nice option of being able to see messages, files, images, or music. It is simply the easiest newsreader to use, and is well supported by Panic. Panic is a new company, but I see them doing many fine things in the future. After using this program for approximately one hour, I decided to plunk down the money for it, and I consider it money well spent. I really like the look and feel of this application, and customer support is top notch.

While I enjoy finding free programs just as much as anyone, I also enjoy paying for a nice looking product that does what it says, and encouraging the developers who make such fine products as Unison.
